Trainer on Floats

Nexstar Mini EP w/ Hobbyzone Supercub float kit.  Kit does not fit this plane without modifications.  The super cub has a fuselage with much more kick in the back. I removed the rear landing gear on my Nexstar and screwed in the included float mount.  The wire float struts had to be trimmed to reduce the height by approximately 1", and rebent to fit back into the floats.  For the front mount, i cut 5 pieces of modeling ply and pressed them together with CA.  I cored a section in the middle for the struts to mount in, and glued in a backing piece of ply on the inner side of the fuselage.  The block was then bolted through the fuselage and backing ply.  I used the clamps that held the nose gear to provide additional support on the block.  Lastly i had to waterproof the bottom with clear packing tape. 

I have taxied the plane around, but haven't gotten in the air yet, as the wind has been unrelenting.  Will post pics or vid when i make the maiden as a float.
